About

History

In early 2009 a group of community members came together with a shared vision of creating a non-profit Adult Family Home dedicated to the care of people in their last few months of life. Our envisioned program will address an acute and unfilled need for end of life care services in the greater Thurston County area of Washington.

Purpose

Many persons living in our community and diagnosed with a terminal illness are either unable to afford 24-hour care at home or do not have access to caregivers, and thus have limited options for care. Our home will be specifically dedicated to the residential and custodial needs of persons and their families who are facing end of life.

Services

Journey Home will provide a nurturing holistic environment to support spiritual and emotional exploration during the end of life. Residents will receive compassionate, loving care from staff and volunteers committed to supporting people through the dying process. Families will be supported and involved with resident care as desired.

Timeline

Journey Home received 501c3 status in March 2010. We expect that through fundraising efforts and the Board’s hard work we will have our doors open by the Fall of 2013.
